Personality Bio
I am a native of the upstate of South Carolina where my father was a Methodist Minister (Buncombe Street here in Greenville, Central in Spartanburg) and my mother raised 5 boys. (I am the baby of the family) I was born in Spartanburg, lived in Columbia for a while and have lived in Greenville and Spartanburg from age 10 on. I graduated from Greenville High in 1984. I began my radio career in 1986 while at Wofford College in Spartanburg South Carolina. I graduated from Wofford in 1988 with a B.A. in English. I started full time in radio in 1990, met my wife to be in 1994 and we were married in 1995. Many of you may have listened to me doing "Cryin' Lovin' Laughin' or Leavin' locally in the early 1990's or "Country Heartlines" nationally from 1995 to the present. I still do that for a few stations around the country from right here in Greenville!

My father passed away in November of 2002 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. We were very lucky the next year to have identical twin sons named Kai and Whistler who were born December 22nd 2003. As many of you know we had a long hard road to get them into the world and feel so blessed to have them, I am just sorry my Dad never got to meet them. Kai is the Hawaiian word for ocean and Whistler is a beautiful ski mountain in Canada that we have visited ten times in the last 12 years.

That said I love the outdoors, especially snow skiing
though I don't get to do that as much as I'd like to.  I
enjoy watching college basketball and college football
and  pro football as well. I love Mexican food, pizza,
and unfortunately I like junk food! Some of my favorite
country artists are Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Keith
Urban and Carrie Underwood.  I am a bit of a gadget freak,
so if you have any questions about HDTV, Tivo, Slingbox,
wireless routers and the like email me and I might be able
to help you! I like nothing better than spending time with
my family.

John, Vicky Kai and Whistler in Whistler BC February 2008.

Do You Have A Five Second Rule?
Tuesday 09-30-2008 5:28pm ET
My four year old sons Kai and Whistler will eat just about any food they find on the floor or in the car. It does not matter if they dropped it 3 seconds ago in the house or 3 days ago in the car, they will give it a taste! I know some people have a 5 or 10 or 30 second rule about dropped food...how about you? Vote here and let's see where your threshold is for eating what you drop! (All in fun people!)
