The upstate is pretty much home. I wasn't born here, but the family moved to Greenville 40 years ago when Dad took a job in the textile business. Went to J. L. Mann High, then saw my daughter graduate from the same school. I started in the radio business after one semester of college, which I found out was too hard. (College, not this!) I was lucky to get started here at WESC 30 years ago, and haven't found anything else I really wanted to do more. And I like the things we have on WESC ... I do like country music, I do like racing, I just don't like getting up at 3 am.
The big game in New York isn’t set to kick off for a couple of months yet, but we already have the first claim of an ad being banned from the broadcast. The ad is for a small firearms company called Daniel Defense. It’s actually a pretty good spot, putting the focus on family and home protection, and the company swears they planned to buy a two million dollar spot in the Super Bowl. But was it really banned? Probably not. It’s doubtful the small firm would have the resources to actually buy the time. However, claim you were banned, say you love guns, and lots of people (this announcer included!) will put the ad on a website! Voila…free advertising! Well done promotion department
They call him “Tippy The Fainting Squirrel” on the social web sites, I call him perhaps the funniest animal I’ve ever seen. No one is sure why, whether it’s a medical condition, too many beers he night before, or maybe he’s just really easily frightened. But for some reason, this little black squirrel can’t stay upright for more than a few seconds! Bless his heart, but it’s really funny!
We don’t know his real name yet, because the police couldn’t catch him. He posted this bike-cam video on youtube using the name Robert Bobby (like a relative of the fictional race car driver from Talladega Nights) of his trip on I-95 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike at speeds up to 186 miles per hour. Kids, don’t try this at home, or anywhere else. Really…
A guy named Rowan Atwood spends a lot of his time planning and executing pranks. This one involved Thanksgiving dinner. Enjoy the video, and be glad your feast didn’t go like this one!
The Macy's Thanksgiving day Parade has been a holiday tradition in America since 1924. In 1927, Felix The Cat became the first giant balloon to soar above the masses. MASH RIGHT HERE to enjoy a gallery of some of the most famous balloons, and at least one that we'll never see again!
...I'll be you can identify with this! I sure can :-)

Enjoy this sweet and cute video of a small toddler hugging on a very large, and very patient, St. Bernard! Also enjoy the squeals of delight the little child makes. And enjoy making fun of the woman making the video, and she regales us with a string of baby talk that is really funny
