The upstate is pretty much home. I wasn't born here, but the family moved to Greenville 40 years ago when Dad took a job in the textile business. Went to J. L. Mann High, then saw my daughter graduate from the same school. I started in the radio business after one semester of college, which I found out was too hard. (College, not this!) I was lucky to get started here at WESC 30 years ago, and haven't found anything else I really wanted to do more. And I like the things we have on WESC ... I do like country music, I do like racing, I just don't like getting up at 3 am.
Mighty Mouse debuted as Super Mouse in "Mouse of Tomorrow" on this day in 1942. I was a big fan of the Mouse when I was a kid. I was also a fan of Andy Kaufmann, perhaps the most bizarre comic mind of our generation. The two came together in spectacular fashion in a bit he did on Saturday Night Live years ago, I thought it was hilarious. I hope it gives you a grin too!
