The upstate is pretty much home. I wasn't born here, but the family moved to Greenville 40 years ago when Dad took a job in the textile business. Went to J. L. Mann High, then saw my daughter graduate from the same school. I started in the radio business after one semester of college, which I found out was too hard. (College, not this!) I was lucky to get started here at WESC 30 years ago, and haven't found anything else I really wanted to do more. And I like the things we have on WESC ... I do like country music, I do like racing, I just don't like getting up at 3 am.
T.G. Sheppard has an impressive collection of “all-time favorites,” ‘Tryin To Beat The Morning Home,’ ‘Devil In The Bottle,’ ‘I loved Em Everyone’ just to name a few. He was also very involved in NASCAR, along with Folger’s he was on Ken Schraeder’s car for several seasons. Sadly, T.G. ain’t doing very well right now, and our prayers are with him and the family. Here’s the report from the Associated Press
T.G. SHEPPARD IN CRITICAL CONDITION
UNDATED (AP) — T.G. Sheppard is still in critical condition after being hospitalized late last week for a bladder infection. Country Weekly reports that Sheppard's wife Kelly Lang released a statement explaining the infection "spread into his bloodstream and is very hard to treat." The "Slow Burn" singer is in a Nashville-area hospital. Lang says he is "very weak" and is being treated for a high and irregular heart rate, a complication from the infection.
