The upstate is pretty much home. I wasn't born here, but the family moved to Greenville 40 years ago when Dad took a job in the textile business. Went to J. L. Mann High, then saw my daughter graduate from the same school. I started in the radio business after one semester of college, which I found out was too hard. (College, not this!) I was lucky to get started here at WESC 30 years ago, and haven't found anything else I really wanted to do more. And I like the things we have on WESC ... I do like country music, I do like racing, I just don't like getting up at 3 am.
Someone (who is meaner than a Grinch!) stole the Christmas decorations from the Hickory Tavern Fire depatment. These are first responders who don't get paid, they do what they do because they love their community and want to protect it. And they always try to add a little holiday cheer! I know money's tight this time of year, but if you could spare a few dollars send it to the address below. I did.
