The upstate is pretty much home. I wasn't born here, but the family moved to Greenville 40 years ago when Dad took a job in the textile business. Went to J. L. Mann High, then saw my daughter graduate from the same school. I started in the radio business after one semester of college, which I found out was too hard. (College, not this!) I was lucky to get started here at WESC 30 years ago, and haven't found anything else I really wanted to do more. And I like the things we have on WESC ... I do like country music, I do like racing, I just don't like getting up at 3 am.
Jake Owen and His wife Lacey have decided to change their baby girl’s name. Seems to me it was a good idea! Here’s the story from the Associated Press:
WHY JAKE OWEN CHANGED HIS BABY'S NAME
NEW YORK (AP) — Part of being a parent is to not create reasons why your kid will be teased, as Jake Owen has discovered. He tells People magazine he wanted to name his newborn daughter Pearl, after a dear friend who died, with the middle name Olive. That means her initials would be POO. Owen and his wife, Lacey, named the girl Olive Pearl Owen instead.
