The upstate is pretty much home. I wasn't born here, but the family moved to Greenville 40 years ago when Dad took a job in the textile business. Went to J. L. Mann High, then saw my daughter graduate from the same school. I started in the radio business after one semester of college, which I found out was too hard. (College, not this!) I was lucky to get started here at WESC 30 years ago, and haven't found anything else I really wanted to do more. And I like the things we have on WESC ... I do like country music, I do like racing, I just don't like getting up at 3 am.
Jase Robertson, one of the stars of “Duck Dynasty,” was kicked out of a posh New York City hotel after an employee mistook him for a homeless man! Robertson, who of course was sporting his trademark beard and cammo clothing, was in town with his family to appear on "Live with Kelly and Michael." He said he was in the lobby of his hotel and asked where the bathroom was. An employee said,"Right this way, sir." He walked Robertson outside, pointed down the road and said, "Good luck." His wife said, "What happened?" Robertson said "I just got kicked out." Robertson had a sense of humor about the incident, claiming he was the victim of facial profiling! He also didn't blame the employee and continued to stay at the hotel despite the incident. Donald Trump, who owns the hotes, relayed his apology to Robertson, who then tweeted “All is well with me and @therealDonaldTrump. We wear big boy pants. Mine happen to be cammo. #noworries”
