The upstate is pretty much home. I wasn't born here, but the family moved to Greenville 40 years ago when Dad took a job in the textile business. Went to J. L. Mann High, then saw my daughter graduate from the same school. I started in the radio business after one semester of college, which I found out was too hard. (College, not this!) I was lucky to get started here at WESC 30 years ago, and haven't found anything else I really wanted to do more. And I like the things we have on WESC ... I do like country music, I do like racing, I just don't like getting up at 3 am.
I don't much care for the 'humans' (and I use the term loosely) that follow the Westboro Church. And I never talk about them, because that only gives them the attention that they so desperately crave to spread their unique brand of hatred. But it's worth it to me to post this video of Vince Gill having a word with them at a recent concert!
