What are your "All Time Favorite" songs?
Click the link below and send me an email.
I may surprise you one night with one of YOUR
"All Time Favorites!"
I'm on vacation this week...and Eric Rogers is doing a fine job filling in (maybe too good of a job), but I felt like acknowledging Ray Price's passing was worth logging in and commenting on.
As many might know, I've been with WESC over 30 years. In those 30 plus years I've played a lot of Country Music. Many of the songs I played as "new songs" became Classics for several acts who have now retired or passed on. Time is passing by fast!
I never had the opportunity to meet Ray Price. If I had a quarter for every time I played "For The Good Times," "Crazy Arms," "Heartaches By The Numbers," or many other Ray Price hits....I can promise you I would have enough quarters to retire.
In my opinion, Ray transcended Country Music. His music was Country, but also was well received on a Global basis. He wasn't considered a rebel or an outlaw. He didn't have to wear a special outfit that identified him...and he wasn't attached to one style of music.
From what I know, he was a Christian man with a deep belief. His final message to his fans was of appreciation...and....confidence he would "see you again."
There are many who have read this far who don't know who Ray Price is. One of the great things about the world we live in today is that you can discover Ray Price with just a few clicks of your mouse. I invite you to do so. We live in a digital world where nothing stays the same more than a blink. Much like you can discover your favorite new band...you can also re-live a great era. Ray's music is timeless.
...some send "year in review" letters, and some send group email to family and friends at Christmas. Would you do this?
Christmas means a lot of different things to a lot of people. The remembrance of the of the birth of Christ is what is important in my opinion, but having spent some time in a hospital at Christmas, Love is important. Martina is one of my favorites. Please watch.
Granted, the Airline is getting publicity....but imagine if you had been on that flight.
I would think harvesting Christmas Trees on a large tree farm would be time consuming. Not when you've got this person piloting a helicopter. Check out these flying skills.
Although I haven't heard as many comments recently as I did initially when the naming wrights to the downtown arena became the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, I remember people who were unhappy with the name, "Bi-Lo Center."
I found one you can think about. In Louisville, KY....they are the host city to the KFC Yum Center.
...you might crash into two other ones.
